The manufacturer has all the expertise required for creating rare and unusual movements that constantly break boundaries. Setting the benchmark for many other Swiss-based companies to follow in their footsteps, Zenith's automatic movements are certainly what every other manufacturer aspires to create.
Zenith automatic movements are built piece-by-piece in the manufacturing facilities of Zenith’s headquarters, nestled deep in the heart of Switzerland in Le Locle. The timepieces are varied both in aesthetics and functions – each one offering something a little different. Innovative features grace some of the more technical looking wristwatches, whilst others tell the time on simple three handed dials. The timepieces look simply effortless from the front view of the dial, yet inside each case, some of the company’s most intricate and complex craftsmanship is coming to life. Some of the dials feature an openwork design which allows the wearer a unique glance inside Zenith's world of manufacture. The dial features are also pronounced enough to read without getting confused with various elements of the movement. Many chronograph watches showcase the three counters decorated in different colours like deep grey, blue and black to enhance visibility.
Some of Zenith's most iconic movements include the likes of the El Primero and the Elite. Both movements are crafted entirely in-house and comprise of a number of small components that are assembled by hand before the timepiece is sealed. The watches, once equipped with their movements, are then subject to a number of quality tests to ensure each timepiece is fit for the wrist of the avid connoisseur before being packaged up in a beautiful Zenith presentation box. This process of manufacture is the same for every Zenith timepiece.
The Zenith Elite movement is an incredibly powerful movement that offers something both practical and unique to wristwatch lovers. The movement is slim allowing it to sit inside an ultra-slim case. These timepieces are perfect for wearing underneath the cuff of a work's shirt sleeve, providing accurate time whilst sitting discreetly alongside professional attire. The movement provides an impressive 100 hour power reserve, allowing the gentleman to take the watch off at night and come back to it in a couple of days without worrying about it keeping accurate time. The El Primero movement is another timepiece that marks a milestone in Zenith's history. The watches that this movement first powered were the first ever automatic chronograph to be launched. It gave and still continues to give collectors all over the world something unique and exciting to enjoy whilst its aesthetics remain as sleek as ever.
